Craft a NEW Story About Yourself!

You are truly amazing!

Do you believe me?

Many of my clients struggle to maintain this belief. They oftentimes feel it is an arrogant way of thinking or are quick to point out times that they fell short of a goal...as if those failures mean they don't deserve to feel this way about themselves. That's simply not true!

What I tell them and want to share with you is this: you always get to decide what is true in your life, including how you think about yourself. You are not MORE amazing than someone else, but I do encourage you to recognize that you are truly different and unique than any other human being on this planet.

For many years I believed:

  • I was too shy

  • I had a harder time losing weight than other people in my life

  • I was too sensitive

  • I couldn't make a lot of money

I, like many of the high performers I now coach, most likely brought these beliefs with me from childhood; maybe believing something my parents told me, or even a trusted friend or teacher. Regardless of their origin, I believed them, so I created evidence to prove these thoughts true.  I had a hard time meeting new people, I continued to gain weight, and allowed my feelings to be hurt easily.

When I started to understand that these thoughts were just optional, one by one, I let go of these beliefs and began to create new results for myself.

You are only defined by how you think of yourself.

Consider the notion that if 50 people met you at a party, they would all have something different to say about you. They would be having independent thoughts about you based on their personal experiences, preferences, and opinions. Regardless of what they think, you always get to decide what you think about yourself and your life. Even better: you get to go out and create that.

My coach encouraged me to put this into perspective with the following question: If my life was a story, what would the title be? Then, she asked me to walk her through the titles and content of each chapter. It was at this point that I realized I wasn’t super excited by either of them. Together we crafted a new story, with a compelling title, and juicy chapters - a real page-turner! As you can imagine, this has been a much more exciting and empowering way to live.

What is your story? If your life was a book, what would the title be? What would the chapters include? Are you excited about it? If not, allow me to remind you that you can always re-write this story. It may take a while to uncover and dismantle the beliefs from the old book, but it is certainly possible. Not to mention, much more fun!

As an added bonus, you can do this again and again for the rest of your life. No one is stopping you! If you are truly committed to changing the themes and reciting the new story every day, your life will start to match your new story in no time at all!

It worked for me, hundreds of clients that I have worked with, and it can work for you too. If you would like support in the process, I invite you to claim your 30-minute call with me. It may be just what you need to start a more compelling chapter of your life.

The next time you find yourself waiting to feel good, remember that the peace you crave is right here, right now, ready for the taking.
