Grow in this Half-way Mark
As we approach the half-way mark of 2021, I want to remind you to use this as an opportunity to review your yearly goals and check-in to see where you are with them and compare them to where you hoped to be when you created them at the beginning of the year.
Think of a basketball team huddled in the locker room at half-time, either way ahead of their opponent with points, in an exact tie or behind, what do you need to hear from your coach? Do you need the coach to affirm what you are doing great in? Do you need the coach to highlight the areas that could use some improvement? Do you need to hear the coach give some words of inspiration and get you pumped out to finish it?
Without judgement, criticism, your inner mean voice is not welcomed, check-in to see if you are ahead of the schedule you want to be or way behind it. I need you to know that wherever you are, you are perfectly where you should be. A lot of things can happen in 6 months and now we have more information about what you might need to cross the finish line.
The things you tell yourself at this half-way marker can change everything.
Take a sacred hour with yourself and give yourself this locker room talk. Look at those intentions you set on January 1st and evaluate and ask these questions: What is working? What isn’t working? What do I want to differently move forward? Do you need to tweak things? Do you need to drink more water, add a half-hour of movement into your day, start that meditation practice you have been yearning for?
It is not too late to work on these changes.
I encourage you before July 2nd (the official half-way point of the year) to schedule a precious hour with yourself to engage in this mid-year evaluation. Look at the intentions you set on January 1st and ask these questions:
What is working and not working for me?
What do I want to differently move forward?
Do I need to tweak things?
Do I need to drink more water, add a half-hour of movement into my day and start that meditation practice I have been yearning for?
It is not too late to work on the changes you can face. While doing it make sure to have fun and it can be pleasurable, try writing journals, lighting candles with your favorite scent, hype music and give yourself that pep talk, that motivation, that inspiration, and maybe even some tough love.
This might be the perfect time to hire a personal coach like myself to help you blast through any limiting beliefs, shadows, self-sabotaging tendencies that are holding you back. I invite you to reach out for a sacred hour with me here and give you that half-time inspiration that could help you win it all.
Just do it.
Mind Your Strength,
Melanie Shmois
