Shifting Intensities

One thing I have witnessed in many of my high-achieving clients is the tendency to stay at a certain intensity/speed for a very long time. Many of my clients are on the go, super busy, and always have their foot on the gas, pushing really, really hard. It is easy to get used to this fast & intense speed, and before you know it, it becomes the default intensity.

The issue with this is that, like a car, staying in the fastest speed is not sustainable and suitable for the engine and is so hard on our nervous systems. When pushing through, we start to lose sight of what our mind, body, and soul need. I encourage you to downshift into a gear/an intensity that feels better to your nervous system. At first, you might resist this because your default setting is set to high gear, but over time, you will find the downshifting much more enjoyable AND sustainable.

When we can coast at a slower intensity, we can also notice and appreciate all the things we have created. So many of my dear clients create amazing things at work or in their businesses and do not take time to bask in all that they have created. They are on to the next thing, missing opportunities to sit and celebrate.

When was the last time you just appreciated something you have created?

This is your invitation to downshift to a gear that allows you to slow down, check-in, and rest. Even though it might be foreign and uncomfortable at first, it will allow you to enjoy your work and personal life to the fullest. Celebrate your successes before anyone else notices them. You deserve it.

I have one spot left from 1:1 mentorship. If you want to play with a new edge and create a result you have struggled with, whether losing weight, finding purpose, or being a relationship stressor, I am here for you.

Shift intensities, my friend, and sit in all you have created.

Warmly,

-Melanie
