Complaining is working against you
All of us complain. Many of us do it and don’t even realize it. But I want to show you today is that even though sometimes in the moment it feels good to complain, it often makes things worse.
Taking risks and sea otters
Most of my life I played it safe. I didn’t raise my hand in class as a kid unless I knew for sure I knew the answer so I wouldn’t get embarrassed if I was wrong. I only tried out for sports and activities that I was somewhat good at, I only socialized with people that I was already comfortable around.
Being willing to be wrong about it
Many of us are hurting ourselves with our own painful stories about what the people in our lives did or didn’t do that we believe is unfair or unjust.
4 acts of fierce self-love
I think many people assume that self-love is all warm and cuddly filled with bubble baths and cheesy affirmations. When I work with clients, we really try to foster what I call “fierce self-love”.
Fear is outdated
For millions of years, fear was arguably our most important emotion. Our survival depended on it. When faced with a life -threatening danger like a saber-toothed tiger, or grizzly bear, our brain triggered this powerful emotion in the form of our fight or flight response to protect us.
