Chronicles on My Journals

So many beautifully bound notebooks full of wisdom

Wisdom from other teachers, mentors, scholars

I have so many beautiful notebooks that I love to fill with notes from coaching calls, webinars, and sessions from mentors. Taking notes helps me anchor the information and sometimes apply it to my life so I can integrate it. These beautiful journals fill my home office and the office where I see clients, but I realize many don’t contain my words. They don’t have my wisdom, experiences, or life in them.

During a visualization exercise with a mentor, I closed my eyes and imagined my beautiful girls emptying these spaces and reading them when we are older and gray. Yes, they might be inspired by the notes I took and likely confused by the contents without all the context. I also theorized that my girls would want to read my words. They would like to find out how I felt when I was a teenage girl suffering through my first breakup, my thoughts and feelings when I was pregnant with them, and my life as an adult woman.

I would love to read some pages of my mom’s journals while honoring the space for her secrets and private moments. Why do I only fill up the pages with other people’s insights? Perhaps I think their words are more resounding, more powerful, and more profound in some way. Comparisonitis can run so deep sometimes. This can often lead to consuming a lot of other people’s materials and spending less time in my mind, body, and spirit.

What if we created as much as we consumed? What if we all honored our inner wisdom equal to or above other mentors, scholars, and influencers? We all have so much creative insight, yet many constantly look away to find it. I am committing to a consistent journal practice to connect to my inner knowing, wisdom, and life. This statement states that my life experiences are worth exploring, documenting, and cherishing.

Do you have regular journal practice? If so, I would love to hear how you go about it and if not, I would love for you to join me on the sacred journey of self-exploration via journaling.

Chronicles:

So many beautifully bound notebooks full of wisdom

Leather ones, metal bound, branded paper

Notes from webinars, coaching sessions, in-person workshops

Insight upon insight

BUT FROM OTHER HUMANS

What about the wisdom from my life?

Moments of my life documented

The dried-up tears from heartbreak

The precious moments during my pregnancies

The bits and pieces from a mundane Tuesday

The breakthroughs, the aha moments, the lessons

The pain, more pain, the comebacks

I’m here to give voice to these; I bring my wisdom to the surface for you to tap into your truth through my words.

Let’s express these moments, these truths, by going in

I can’t wait to see what comes out

If you would like some support in this area, I am more than happy to work with you on it. I welcome you to reach out to schedule a call or message me.

Warmly,
