Three Practices I Blew Off but Can Change Someone’s Life

1). Meditation

I read the research and heard people talk highly about it but resisted for so long. Then, when I sat down to meditate, my thoughts swelled so much that it was a very uncomfortable practice. Once I stuck with it and did it 1-2 times a day, so much changed regarding my ability to be present, witness my thoughts, be calmer, and be in touch with my spirituality.

2). Making a gratitude list

Again, I heard so many people, from Oprah to my friends and clients, say how much having a gratitude practice helped with some more inner peace, but sadly, I blew it off for years. A few years ago, I started writing down (3) things I was grateful for each day (trying to pick different things each time), and I kept feeling so much gratitude, abundance, and fulfillment.

3). Wanting what I already have/abundance of practice

I got little dopamine hits for years from buying new things and chasing the next adventure until I started studying abundance principles and wanting what I already had. I started with my car and my purse, then moved up to my dogs, family, and friends and just sat with and thought about how much I wanted those things and created them. This practice ultimately led to less consumption and more appreciation and abundance.

These practices are simple yet challenging to fit into your life, so I started layering them in slowly. But they have led to so much fulfillment, joy, and inner peace, so I encourage you to pick one or all three and see if you can experience this bliss.
