A Different Kind of Growth Edge
External accomplishment is a reflection of inner capabilities. When we strive to accomplish externally in society, we expand our psychological capacity and that inner growth results in outer achievement.
Many people make external success their primary or only purpose. They desire financial stability, luxuries, and social standing. Others, on the other hand, see external success as a means or chance to expand their skills and competencies, and external benefits in terms of money or reputation are appreciated only as manifestations of their inner growth.
My clients know how to get uncomfortable professionally. They have had massive achievements in school, at work, climbed the corporate ladder impressing their clients, colleagues and upper management. In the gym they lift heavy weights, go all out during an indoor cycling sprint song and have run marathons annually.
They started craving for fulfillment, joy, and passion which is ironically difficult when speeding up, hustling, going all out.
In order to find this, we work on slowing down.
This is a different kind of growth edge.
The edge they work on with me is stillness, intentionality, and presence. For example, sitting in stillness is hard. The mind races, minutes seem like hours, and the thought of slowing down to do one thing at a time seems impossible. You need to have the willingness to be still, to close your eyes, and just let it be.
What if learning to savor the moment was more rewarding than moving on to the next big thing?
I want you to stop checking your phone every 5 minutes, filling the space with production and consumption. Start creating space to appreciate beautiful sceneries or any place where you can feel relaxed and comfortable.
If you need support in slowing down from this busy world, I invite you to schedule a call with me so you can practice holding stillness with the same reverence you do with all that you achieve during your day and watch your life change.
Have a great weekend!
