The Power of Intentionally Showing Up to the World

Most of us struggle in reaching out like we are afraid to be judged and make wrong decisions but what we are missing is the power of doing something and moving in some direction.

My year-long client, Clay, was looking for someone who specifically had a mental health background. Being a therapist himself, he also wanted someone who understood what were the ethical and practical considerations that someone who didn’t have a mental health background wouldn’t necessarily have.

Deciding to get coaching takes a lot of courage but as Clay said, “Not making a decision is more dangerous than making a wrong decision.” He had a realization that growth doesn’t necessarily happen. What we want is a bright light moment of change, and it happens sometimes but in reality, how change happens is in these slow increments when we show up and do the work.

He saw my work on a website and reached out to me online. When we started working together, Clay was on a solid career path but what he was looking for was a way on how he can build more into his career. He also wanted his relationships to be better and work on accepting transitions as smoothly as possible.

We worked on different methods and I asked him what tool or method helped him through some of those transitions, he mentioned the different pieces of training that we did that made him start to look at things from another perspective and thought maybe just having someone expose us to a different way of looking at something is powerful.

Now, Clay got tons of rooms for growth and he felt optimistic about it, gained more discipline and lost over 25 pounds, and went all-in on his coaching career and has attracted 5+ clients earning more money than ever before. He feels more confident about working with his clients providing significant value to them.

We are all a work in progress but what’s beautiful is that we can be aware when we need some help.

That kind of level where you can manage yourself emotionally and self-talk in terms of career, relationships and other transitions in life enables you to learn how to intentionally manage to show up in the world.

The willingness of working with yourself can make a lot of difference. Instead of spending a lot of time in your mind, over analysing and planning things. You can practice allowing yourself to be seen, accept that growth is a continuous process, and work on things that you’ve learned.

I encourage you to be brave and take a chance. If you have been thinking about reaching out to work with me as a private client, now is the time!
