Maximize Your Intuition in Decision-Making

What exactly is intuition? Simply put your intuition as your inner guide, your inner teacher if you will.

Everytime we have a big question or an important decision to make, many of us look outside of ourselves to find the answer. We turn to Google. We seek advice from our friends and family. We listen to expert podcasts. And while these resources may help us to gather information, we often neglect to consult the most important authority of all: our own intuition.

Most intuition is so subtle that we only remember it in hindsight. Because your subconscious mind will always provide you with the knowledge you need to move forward in the right direction. This is true for all people, not just those who consider themselves highly intuitive.

Just like memory and critical thinking, your intuition is a mental muscle you can strengthen and use to create success and become the best possible version of yourself. Now, I want to help you learn how to listen to your guides and tap into intuition in the moment.

Here are six tips on how to develop your intuition and leverage it to make wiser, more soul-inspired decisions for your life.

  1. Recognize when your intuition speaks

Remember, intuition usually isn’t very ‘loud’ - it’s often very subtle and communicates in different ways for everyone. Your intuition might speak to you as a thought, a feeling of relief, discomfort or a “gut feeling,” or a deep sense of certainty. That is why it is important for you to be aware of your reactions to certain situations.

2. Deepen your intuition through meditation

Regular meditation will help you clear your mind of distractions, not only that it creates space for new powerful ideas. Spending just 10 minutes a day will make it much easier for you to notice your intuition when it speaks to you.

3. Dedicate time to listen to your intuition each day

Life is busy, but I encourage you to devote time each day to consciously tune into what your intuition is telling you. You can make it part of your routine or start to practice doing it in your free time. This is most important when you have to make an important decision - sit with it and look to yourself for the answers.

4. Ask questions

Get specific about the information you are asking yourself and what kind of answers you are looking for. Although it’s good to ask other people’s perspectives, it’s better if you learn to know your own opinion and check if it is helpful for you. The more clearly you pose your questions, the clearer the answers will be.

5. Write down your answers

Journal writing is a great way to access your intuition and capture its wisdom. Laying your thoughts allows you to recognize what you want and do something about it. Make a regular practice of journaling for just five minutes a day - you will be amazed at the clarity of what comes through!

6. Trust yourself

Trusting your intuition is all about trusting yourself - and the more faith you place in yourself, the more success you will have. What you desire will only manifest if you learn to trust yourself.

Tapping into your intuition can be challenging, especially if you’ve spent a lifetime second-guessing yourself or if you have too many other voices of self-doubt, blame, or judgement drowning out your intuition. Don’t let it stop you from achieving your full potential.

If you feel like you need more help with this, I invite you to schedule a one-on-one call with me and catapult yourself to a higher level of performance in all areas of your life.
