Work on Your Internal and External Upgrade

I recently had to upgrade with my iPhone and as I was at the cell phone store I was thinking about how there are so many areas of our life that we neglect to upgrade.

It'd be really interesting if you would like to consider where internally could you benefit from an upgrade? Maybe how you talk to yourself, how you think about yourself or other people in your life. Then externally, are there areas, like your car, wardrobe, or office, that could use some upgrading.

Starting with internal, sometimes we are rehashing and we are thinking and talking to ourselves in the same way that we have since we were let's say a teenager, we can have a lot of negative self-talk about our body image, how we do things or don't do things.

In my experience, I had a coach once who really encouraged me to consider if my clients were witnessing how I talk to myself, would I feel good about that? I realize that it can be an area where I could really upgrade and decide intentionally what I am not willing to tolerate anymore.

Now, perhaps you need an upgrade for how you are thinking, feeling and acting towards yourself or other belief systems that you have - maybe even about other people, your children, your loved ones, or your parents… could some of those thoughts and beliefs benefit from an upgrade?

Then you can think about considering externally. Are there things in your life like your electronics or your wardrobe that could use an upgrade? Things that you've just had for years and not really intentionally thought about throwing away or having something new. I know so many people are on a budget or finances can be a concern so you can start off small. You could just upgrade your underwear or your socks or one pair of shoes.

I have the same summer shoe flip-flops that could really benefit from an upgrade. I'm also noticing my health fitness routines. Often I recognize I've been doing the same things I was doing in my 20s and 30s, perhaps I need to refresh what I'm doing in my 40s. For my age group, more rest is recommended and I really resist rest days so this is an area where I've been needing some more healing and growth to embrace rest.

It struck me, what I was doing in my 20s and 30s has actually been working against me in a lot of ways in my 40s so I need an upgrade in my fitness routine.

This will not only help you clean out some old things that you’re holding on to that you no longer need but this is also a way where you can really up level to an opportunity of growth.

So where do you need an upgrade, Internally and externally? I suggest both.

If you ever need any support with this feel free to reach out to me and start thinking about upgrading your life a little bit in these small ways.

Have a great week everyone!
